PART 1: Program of the theoretical course and exam
Theory course
On Friday before the exam (in the afternoon) we organize a 3 hours theory course.
The meeting place is our central office at address Aldo Negri 1, Poreč.
Lessons and exams are held in 4 languages. You can choose between Croatian, German, English or Italian.
You will receive the study manual and the most common exam questions in our offices, or if you are not able to collect them in person, after your registration, we will send them to you by e-mail or post.
We recommend that you take the learning book in advance in order to come to the lessons with a certain basic knowledge and facilitate the process of mastering the necessary material.
At the lessons, you will receive the other equipment, and our expert teachers will prepare you for successfully mastering the material necessary to pass the exam and obtain the Croatian boat driver’s license.
Exam
The exam is oral and is held on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. in the Poreč Harbor Master building, where one of our offices is located, so we will be present to assist you also on the day of the exam.
You will receive your boat driver’s license approx. 1 hours after passing the exam, and you can pick it up at our office in the Harbor Master building.
PART 2: Practical training
After you receive your boat driver’s license on Saturday, in agreement with you about the starting time, we will do the skipper training.
The training lasts approximately 3 hours / 3.30 hours depending of the number of candidates and weather conditions.
If you already have certain knowledge and want to improve only certain segments of driving, with individual trainings we can fully adapt the program to your wishes and needs.
Practical training program:
- introduction to the equipment and operation of the vessel
- mooring and unmooring of vessels
- driving in the port
- driving on the open sea (gliding and riding on waves)
- reaching dangerous zones and orientation using nautical signs
- anchoring
- docking
- basics of the most used knots
After completing the training you will acquire valuable knowledge in boat steering, you will get rid of your fears and insecurities and learn to react timely and safe manner in various situations that will face you during the navigation on the sea.
